Description
10" (25 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged plump bisque torso,very full modeling of
cheeks,grey glass eyes with spiral threading,painted lashes,single stroke brows,accented
nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with modeled space between the very full outlined
lips,pierced ears,peg-jointed bisque arms and legs,arms modeled in realistic poses with bent
elbows,cupped fingers,plump legs with well-defined knees,tiny ankles,painted white stockings
with purple rims and black ankle boots with blue tassels,original muslin chemise. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: 5. Comments: Germany,circa 1882,this model was designed as a
"look-alike" to the circle/dot bebe model of Bru; the Sonneberg French-like series is very
rare,and to find it in this large all-bisque model is virtually unknown. Value Points: extremely
rare doll with compelling presence,all-original body parts,and with an extensive trousseau of
couturier silk and cotton costume in the French style.
