Description
12" (30 cm.) Each has poured wax head with slender face posed in angular manner,painted facial
features,brunette mohair wig,very slender elongated body with padded armature allowing stylish
pose,painted shoes,posed on original wooden base. Condition: fair/good,lace very frail on one.
Marks: Lafitte-Desirat (ink inscription on one). Comments: Circa 1914,Mesdames Lafitte and
Desirat of Paris who designed a series of dolls to illustrate contemporary fashion. Value Points:
wonderfully stylized fashions depicting both the style and the mood of their era. The dolls are
being sold by the Lending Collection,Honolulu Museum of Art.
