Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque shoulder head lady with oval face and elongated throat and having
sculpted brown hair in deep waves away from her face into arranged curls at the back,and
captured under a sculpted bisque toque with impressed woven-straw design,draped magenta
band with gold accents and streamers and a fanciful blue and yellow feather accent. She has
blue glass enamel inset eyes,dark eyeliner,delicately-painted lashes and brows,accented
nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth,fully-sculpted pierced ears,and fancy bodice with W-
shaped Dresden lace-edging in blue with black bordered and gold accents,old muslin stitch-
jointed body with bisque lower limbs and black painted shoes,fine black velvet and silk
antique costume,undergarments. Condition: generally excellent,finish on shoes worn.
Comments: Germany,circa 1865,so few examples of this model are known to exist,possibly as
it was created as exhibition model only. Value Points: exquisite beauty of the very rare
model,whose rarity production factors include glass eyes,elaborately sculpted bodice,and
wonderful sculpted toque bonnet.
