16" (41 cm.) Bisque shoulder head lady with oval face and elongated throat and having sculpted brown hair in deep waves away from her face into arranged curls at the back,and captured under a sculpted bisque toque with impressed woven-straw design,draped magenta band with gold accents and streamers and a fanciful blue and yellow feather accent. She has blue glass enamel inset eyes,dark eyeliner,delicately-painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth,fully-sculpted pierced ears,and fancy bodice with W- shaped Dresden lace-edging in blue with black bordered and gold accents,old muslin stitch- jointed body with bisque lower limbs and black painted shoes,fine black velvet and silk antique costume,undergarments. Condition: generally excellent,finish on shoes worn. Comments: Germany,circa 1865,so few examples of this model are known to exist,possibly as it was created as exhibition model only. Value Points: exquisite beauty of the very rare model,whose rarity production factors include glass eyes,elaborately sculpted bodice,and wonderful sculpted toque bonnet.
