Description
12" (30 cm.) Porcelain shoulder head with black sculpted hair waved away from forehead and
captured under a blue bonnet with wide brim,delicate clusters of flowers above each ear,and
wide yellow bow under the throat and on either side of the back of bonnet,stippling detail of hair
at forehead,painted facial features,blushed cheeks,old leather body with tiny waist,wearing
antique muslin gown and undergarments,red leather slippers. Condition: generally
excellent,small very old flake at back bonnet rim. Marks: 2/0 (inside shoulder plate). Comments:
Germany,circa 1870. Value points: the doll came from the early collection of Estrid Faurholt and
was featured in her Book of Dolls and Dollhouses before moving to the Legoland Museum; it was
acquired from the auction of that museum by Mary Young.
