Ebony-black-complexioned bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulder blades,amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes and black brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with defined space between the accented lips,pierced ears,original black fleecy mohair wig over cork pate,French kid brown-tinted bebe body with jointed elbows,black bisque lower arms and hands,Chevrot-hinged hips,carved wooden lower legs,wearing fine antique plaid dress with lace collar and cuff,silk sash,undergarments,red silk bonnet,kidskin shoes with rosettes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bru Jne 4 (head and shoulders) (original Bru paper label on torso). Comments: Leon Casmir Bru,circa 1880. Value Points: flawless bisque complexion with rich luminous patina,enhanced by unusually deep modeling of features especially around her eyes and mouth,original sturdy body with perfect bisque hands,lovely costume.
