Description
12" (30 cm.) Each is all-cloth with diagonal-weave stockinette faces,center seam embroidered
and applique facial features,fleecy hair,disc-jointed five-piece body,two with partial original
hand-made costumes. Condition: dolls are excellent with well-preserved details,costumes are
frail and worn. Comments: the dolls were made by a group of Polish refugee women led by
Madame Paderewski in Paris during the late teens and 1920s to raise money for war relief for
orphans; each doll was given a medal to acknowledge its purpose. Value Points: very dear dolls
that are so rare to find,each of the three has its original silver medallion.
