17" (43 cm.) Pink-tinted porcelain shoulder head of lady with elongated oval face and strong throat,midnight-brown sculpted hair looped smoothly over her ears and forming into a triple- row braided chignon that circles the entire back of her head and is decorated by a sculpted comb with tortoise-shell-painting on the comb frame and defined teeth,painted grey upper glancing eyes,black upper eyeliner,single stroke brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with very full lips,muslin stitch-jointed body,leather arms,wearing fine antique costume. Condition: there is a restoration on the throat which does not extend into the head nor into the shoulderplate,all painting of the head,face,and hair is entirely original. Comments: attributed to Rorstrand Porcelain of Stockholm,circa 1845,very few examples of dolls by this firm are know to exist.
