Description
20" (51 cm.) Hard plastic socket head, torso and legs with jointing at hips and knees, rigid vinyl arms with shoulder and elbow jointing, dark blue sleep eyes, lashes, closed mouth with reddish/coral lips, brunette curled hair. She is wearing a wedding gown with fitted separate bodice of white lace over rose silk underblouse, with long fitted sleeves and collar, matching overskirt that attaches to the bodice in the back (and with zipper closure) and floor-length skirt of narrowly-pleated rose tulle over four layers of petticoats (two tulle and two taffeta),panties, stockings, silver sling heels, pearls, solitaire ring, and a lavish coronet that completely frames her face and is comprised of tiny baby_s breath, and rose and white petals on lace-covered wire frame, long veil, and gorgeous bouquet of white roses and petals. The costume is tagged Madame Alexander. Excellent condition overall. Alexander,1956,the model is known as "Lucy Bride" as the gown is a replica of the gown worn by actress Lucille Ball in the 1956 film "Forever Darling". It is likely the doll was never put into production, possibly created as a prototype or exhibition model only, and is as extremely rare as it is exquisitely beautiful.
