Description
16" (41 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial features, center seam, pronounced nose, black shoe-button eyes, painted dabs of red complexion, black mohair wig with long braids, jointing at shoulders and hips, wearing original felt and cotton costume, leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Steiff (button in left ear). Comments: Steiff, circa 1910, rare character doll from the early series; Steiff presented various American tribes in his inventory, according to Cieslik's Button in Ear Steiff Encyclopedia, page 135. Value Points: rare to find model with distinctively-modeled features, original facial paint and original costume are well-preserved.
