11" (28 cm.) Reclining on her side on a custom rosewood bench is a carved bone figure of adult
woman with defined sculpting of hair and facial features,a carved shawl modestly over her
shoulders. Excellent condition. The figure is known as a Doctor's Doll and,according to
legend,the doll's were used by Chinese women of their time to indicate ailments to their
physician. Exquisite detail of sculpting and perfectly-preserved. Chinese,19th century.
