Description
19" (48 cm.) overall. Standing upon a velvet and brocade covered wooden base is a bisque
head girl with flat-cut neck socket,brown glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted
lashes,feathered brows,rose-blushed eye shadow,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French carton torso
and legs,wire upper arms,bisque forearms,lace and silk costume,holding a wooden bird cage
with little bird. When wound,she turns her head side to side and nods up and down,while
pointing back and forth as though to draw attention to the bird,which flutters back and forth
on its perch,while music plays. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F. 7 G. (doll) L.B. (key)
(also paper tune label on the underside). Comments: Leopold Lambert with bisque head from
Gaultier,circa 1885. Value Points: especially beautiful automaton,which functions well,with
enchanting activity.
