Description
22" (56 cm.) l. x 25"h. x 16"d. The wooden two-story dollhouse with original yellow painted
finish with brown painted window frames and timbers has a door-less front facade, with
elaborate arrangement of five windows on the lower floor in an out-jutting square bay with
roof line to match the overall roof line; and a row of three windows on the second floor with
cardboard window boxes, and then three smaller windows in the attic section. Each window
has upper cardboard panes. A porch with slanted roof and cardboard railing is at the side of
the house, and protects the green painted doorway. There are three more open windows at the
sides with cardboard panes and the servant's room in the attic is accessed by tiny hinged
doors at the back. The entire front hinges open to reveal four interior rooms and an
intricately-constructed stairway with railing. A toilet closet is tucked under the stairway. The
interior wall and floor papers are entirely original and well-preserved,as are the original
curtains. Excellent condition. Germany,Moritz Gottschalk,circa 1910.
