Bisque socket head with very full elongated cheeks,almond-brown glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,daintily-painted curly lashes,brush-stroked and feathered brows,shaded nostrils,accented eye corners,closed mouth with pale outlined lips,separately-modeled pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden fully-jointed body with plump limbs,straight wrists,wearing beautiful antique lace dress,undergarments,shoes,stockings,and wonderful velvet bonnet with fruits and flowers. Condition: generally excellent,some touch-up to lower torso and upper legs. Marks: 16 (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body) 85 (stamp on front torso). Comments: Emile Jumeau,their wistful-faced doll known as Bebe Triste,sculpted by French artist Carrier-Belleuse,circa 1882. Value Points: very rare size 16,the largest size of this luxury model,allowing splendid full expression of the features with finest quality of bisque and painting.
