Description
8" (20 cm.) Each of the two figures are carved wood, with sculpted hair and painted facial features, jointing at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent, some typical rubs. Comments: Max and Moritz, the mischievous fellows inspired by the 19th century storybook and reinvigorated by the early American comic strip, The Katzenjammer Kids, Schoenhut, circa 1915. Value Points: rare little characters have fine original finish, wearing factory original costumes; included is a wooden glass-eyed piglet with open mouth, leather ears and curly tail.
