15" (38 cm.) All-wooden carved polychromed figure of elderly gentleman with carved age lines, bald pate with carved grey flowing curls at sides of face and nape, and very long and full flowing beard, enamel eyes, parted lips with defined teeth, one-piece head and torso, dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, very expressive posing of fingers, wearing red velvet tunic and cap with gold braid trim, burgundy velvet pants. Excellent condition. Genoese, mid-1700s, portrayed is Caspar, King of Tarsus, the figure is attributed to the workshops of Anton Maria Maragliano.
