22" (56 cm.) All-cloth doll with overall-oil-painted finish, distinctive egg-shaped head, slightly-modeled tiny pug-shaped nose, painted shaded-brown short hair with tiny ringlet curls at the forehead, painted blue eyes with all-around lashes, tiny brows, heart-shaped tiny closed mouth, uniquely-shaped body whose hinge-swinging legs have joining fabric at the inner thighs to prevent "flopping", mitten-shaped hands, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Nina Bonner Albritton of Clarksville, Tennessee, circa 1915, each of the dolls was completely made by hand in her private studio. Value Points: very rare to find American cloth studio doll, few examples are known to exist, this with beautiful original finish. Included with the doll is an original catalog with tipped-in photos of her dolls as well as commentary by clients of the Albritton doll.
