19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head,blue glass sleep eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted curly lashes,lightly-feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with very full lips in pouty expression,auburn mohair wig,composition and wooden ball-jointed body with shorter toddler legs,wearing fine antique blue wool mariner costume and cap. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: C made in Germany 14 208 (head) Germany (torso). Comments: Kestner,circa 1910,the extremely rare art character model was offered with either glass or painted eyes; few models are known to exist. Value Points: the rarity of the model is rivaled by the very fine detail of sculpting with impressed details of frown lines around eyes and mouth,plump chin,original body and body finish.
