22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head,deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,mauve-
blushed eye shadow,painted curly lashes,brush-stroked brows with feathered detail,accented
nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined
lips,separately-modelled pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French composition
and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: 10 X (and artist checkmarks,on head). Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body).
Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1880. Value Points: early period bebe with very beautiful
expression,bisque and painting,original wig of soft curly mohair,original pate,body,body
finish,and wearing superb original couturier costume from the workshops of Ernestine
Jumeau,including pale and bronze green silk and velvet with original dust ruffle on skirt
underside,petticoat,muslin chemise,woven bonnet,aqua knit stockings,and aqua kidskin shoes
with aqua silk bows incised "E. Jumeau Med d'Or Paris 1878".
