17" (43 cm.) Pressed felt swivel head with painted facial features,pale blue side and upper-
glancing eyes,brown upper curly lashes,brown eye shadow,black upper eyeliner,feathered
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with shaded lower lips enhanced with rich glaze,blonde
mohair wig in arranged ringlet curls,felt body jointed at shoulders and hips. Condition:
pristine near mint condition,un-played with in original box. Marks: Lenci (cloth and paper
labels,the paper label penciled inventory "100/26"). Comments: Lenci,circa 1930,from the
Sports Series. The model has appeared in Lenci catalogs as a young boy in identical costume;
this example as young girl is extremely rare,perhaps a commissioned exclusive. Value Points:
flawless vibrant original costume,the very rare model wears her original red equestrienne's
jacket,black felt riding breeches,black riding hat,knee-high boots,silver rowelled spurs with
leather straps and matching silver buckles,and carries a wooden-handled braided leather
riding crop. She is preserved in her original box with old hand-written label on the end
"Blonde Doll in Red English Riding Suit" and with original Lenci label.
