12" (30 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate,cobalt blue glass enamel eyes,painted lashes,lightly-feathered brows,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with outlined lips and slightly-upturned lip corners,ears pierced into head,brunette mohair wig over cork pate,all wooden body with dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D (head and shoulder plate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,the early model of his letter series poupee,circa 1865. Value Points: rare doll in pristine condition,along with her original domed trunk with original early period boutique label of Maison Guillard bearing the designation of supplier to his Imperial Highness; and with original trousseau including brown velvet gown with aqua silk trim,blue linen gown with elaborate construction,cream cashmere gown with silk faille and lace trim and extended train,woolen walking suit,various undergarments,lace coiffe,shoes,and bag.
