11" (28 cm.) doll. 15" including bonnet. Bisque socket head with plump facial shape,blue
glass inset googly eyes,painted short curly lashes,feathered brows,button shaped nose,closed
mouth with dainty impish smile,brunette mohair wig,unusual cut of crown designed to
accommodate a small night-light bulb which would be covered by the oversized woven
bonnet,five-piece paper mache toddler body,antique costume,posed on original wooden
platform with hidden electric cord running through her body and leg. Condition: generally
excellent. Marks: Heubach Koppelsdorf 318.7/0 Germany A.H. Schalkau DRGM (head) DRGM
333 (base). Comments: Heubach Koppelsdorf for Albin Hess,the unique novelty character
lamp was registered in 1922 and the character head was registered by Hess in 1923; the
unique over-sized bonnet was designed specifically to accommodate the light bulb. An article
about the doll appears in German Doll Studies by Cieslik,page 270. Value Points: extremely
rare googly model,made especially rare and choice be its original unique bonnet and with
original stamped base.
