Rare Small-Size German Bisque

9" (23 cm.) l. 4 1/2" head circ. Solid-domed bisque head with flanged neck,lightly-tinted brown hair and brows,tiny blue glass sleep eyes,dark eyeliner,closed mouth with center accent line,muslin body,celluloid hands. Condition: generally excellent,the muslin body is not the typical Bye-lo "frog-shape" but seems original. Marks: cop by Grace S. Putnam Made in Germany. Comments: circa 1923,commissioned from German doll makers by George Borgfeldt from Grace Putnam designs of the Bye-lo Baby. Value Points: rare size of the infant doll,wearing original muslin gown with (faded) original label,Bye-lo Baby pin,and pink flannel bunny blanket.
