Description
18" (46 cm.) Standing upon a wooden platform with patterned brown velvet cover is a bisque
head lady with brown glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes,brush-
stroked brows,rose-blushed eye shadow,closed mouth,pierced ears,pale-blonde mohair wig
over cork pate,carton torso and legs with shapely lady torso and long slender legs,bisque
forearms. When wound,music plays,and the lady turns her head side-to-side while dabbing
perfume onto the hankie she holds; then she inclines her head forward and delicately touches
the hankie to her face. Condition: generally excellent,mechanism and music function well.
Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 1 (and artist check marks on head) (partial original
paper label on base). Comments: Leopold Lambert with bisque head by Jumeau,circa 1890.
Value Points: beautifully preserved automaton with rare lady body,ivory silk satin Marquise
costume with lavish lace trim.
