Description
20" (51 cm.) Standing upon a velvet-covered wooden base is a bisque-head girl with blue
glass eyes,mohair lashes,feathered brows,open mouth,four teeth,pierced ears,brunette human
hair wig,French carton torso and legs, wire upper arms, paper mache hands, wearing her factory
original costume comprising suede leggings and boots, velvet coat and hat with brown fur
trim, and a large fur muff in which her hands are tucked. When wound, her head turns, she
"breathes" by moving shoulders up and down as though shivering, and moves each arm to and
fro,her right hand moving in and out of the muff as though waving, while music plays.
Condition: original costume somewhat dusty, bisque excellent, music and mechanism function
albeit with grinding sound. Marks: France SFBJ 301 Paris 3. Comments: attributed to
Decamps, circa 1920. Value Points: charming presentation with original costume aptly
depicting flapper era.
