12" (30 cm.) Bisque socket head with amber tinted complexion,sculpted blue flat-topped hat with yellow band and black brim,painted black hair,blue glass googly eyes,feathered brows,closed mouth with impish smile,composition and wooden ball-jointed body,wearing brown and tan costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Dep Elite J 2/0. Comments: Max Handwerck,circa 1925,from his series of "helmet googlies",the dolls were modeled to represent various soldiers of various countries,this example being Japan. Value Points: among the rarest models of the helmet googly series,with excellent detail of sculpting and painting.
