Description
21" (53 cm.) and 22". Each with sienna tinted composition head,very strong angular features with well defined cheek bones and nose,painted side-glancing black eyes,closed mouth,firmly- stuffed torso with faux wrapped arms,wooden lower legs,black mohair wig in long braids. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Skookum Bully Good Indian (on foot of each,and box also labeled). Comments: originally designed by Mary McAboy about 1914,with heads of dried apple,and then with composition heads,about 1920 by the Arrow Novelty Co,under her direction. Value Points: superb original condition,perfectly-preserved with original boxes and wearing original flannel blanket costumes with beads,moccasins,the man as Chief with feathered head- dress,and the woman with baby strapped to her back.
