12" (30 cm.) All-bisque figure depicts a smiling young baby who has climbed inside his Papa's
comfortable old shoe and now is busily trying to lace the shoe; featuring deeply sculpted blonde
hair with forelock curl,downcast intaglio eyes with heavy eyelids,feathered brows,closed mouth
with beaded upper teeth,dimpled cheeks,toes peeking out from the worn hole at the front of the
shoes,sculpted white smock with ruffled edges and blue bows. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: Heubach (sunburst mark). Comments: Gebruder Heubach,circa 1910. Value Points:
among the rarest and most extravagant of the Heubach piano-baby series featuring an
extraordinary size,and outstanding sculpting and detail that enhance the delightful and
charming activity.
