22" (56 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with highly-characterized features,blue glass
paperweight inset eyes,thick dark eyeliner,feathered brows,rose-blushed eye
shadow,rounded nose with accented nostrils,closed mouth with well-defined space between
the shaded and accented lips,pierced ears,French composition and wooden fully-jointed
body,lovely antique lace dress and bonnet,undergarments,knit stockings,kidskin cream shoes.
Condition: generally excellent,body not original but of the same era and appropriate style and
size. Marks: B 3 M. Comments: Bebe Mothereau,circa 1882,very few models were made by the
firm during this early era. Value Points: outstanding character expression achieved by
superlative sculpting such as sculpted dimples at philtrum,chin and just below the bottom
lip,enhanced by finest bisque and painting.
