13" (33 cm.) Bisque socket head with solid dome,having two different faces which are
alternately revealed by simply swiveling the head; one face depicts a crying child,having
brown glass eyes,painted lashes,painted scowling brows,accented nostrils and eye
corners,closed mouth in crying expression; the other face depicts a smiling child with brown
glass eyes,daintily-painted features,closed mouth with upturned lip corners in smiling
expression,blonde mohair wig,composition and wooden fully-jointed body,nice antique
costume comprising pique coat/dress,undergarments,rose silk stockings,kidskin
shoes,bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Simon and Halbig,circa 1890. Value
Points: the two-facial models,each rare in themselves,felicitously combine in an extremely
rare double-face doll with fine quality of bisque and painting,antique costume.
