Description
11" (28 cm.) h. x 12"w. The ebonized wooden
upright piano has faux keyboard with carved
detail,and is edged with bronze gilt
borders,emblems (one of lyre),candle holders,and
side handles. The lid hinges open revealing the
piano's original purpose as luxury candy
container,and later use as necessaire. Hidden
inside the piano is a key wind music box that
begins to play when wound and the lid lifted.
Included with the piano is a pair of gilded metal
three-arm candelabra and a rare French two-piece
epergne with hand-painted designs. Excellent
condition. French,mid-19th century,Napoleon III
epoch,the piano is very rare.
