Description
16" (41 cm.) Pressed bisque socket
head,almond-shaped blue glass enamel inset eyes
with spiral-threading,dark eyeliner,mauve-blushed
eye shadow,painted lashes and brows,accented
nostrils,closed mouth with accent line between the
lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig over cork
pate,French wooden bebe body with jointing at
shoulders,elbows,hips and knees. Condition: bisque
and body excellent albeit not original to each
other. Marks: 7 (head) A La Mignonette Poupees et
Bebes Costumes et Trousseaux Mon Guigue 7 rue
Notre Dame de Lorette (original paper label on
body). Comments: portrait bisque head by
Jumeau,circa 1875,body is probably by Bru of which
the costume appears to be original,and probably
offered in the A La Mignonette shop,circa 1880s.
Value Points: exquisite face and painting,gorgeous
albeit frail costume of aqua silk with extended
train,aqua wool cap,aqua stockings and black
leather shoes stamped E. Jumeau Med d'Or Paris.
