14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulder plate,very large blue glass
paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,painted
lashes and brows,rose-blushed eye shadow,accented
nostrils,closed mouth,pierced ears,blonde mohair
wig over cork pate,French shapely kid poupee
body,stitched and separated fingers. Condition:
generally excellent,body very sturdy and clean
except some finger wear. Marks: (artist marks on
head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body stamp).
Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1880,the doll is
wearing her original elaborate padded-silk gown in
magenta and ivory colors,trimmed with gilt
metallic threads and faux-jewels,likely
representing royalty of European or Russian
lineage. Value Points: exceptionally beautiful
poupee with dramatic eyes and superb original
costume,with original wooden stand.
