American Wooden Humpty-Dumpty Circus by Schoenhut in Reduced Size with Rare Tent

24" (61 cm.) x 18" x 27"h. (excluding flag). Including a wooden-framed tent with original label "Humpty Dumpty Circus" on the base frame, and with wooden support poles for the canvas tent and various acrobatic beams. Canvas tent with red Humpty Dumpty lettering, red curtained doorway at the back, and an extended garland of various country flags, with American flag at the peak. Included are four various clowns, ringmaster, black dude, and two acrobatic ladies, each with original costumes, and the following painted eye animals: elephant, brown horse with saddle and bridle, zebra, lion, tiger, leopard, buffalo, rhinoceros, giraffe, white dappled horse with wooden platform, brown bear, double hump camel, ostrich, pig and poodle. Along with the following reduced size accessories: metal cage, three various stools, two chairs, four ladders, two barrels, hoop and baton. Very good to excellent condition. American, Schoenhut, the reduced size circus was introduced in 1924 with an eye toward attracting an expanding toddler-aged market. Schoenhut's advertising stated "for the little ones". The set was made for 11 years only.
