Description
20" (51 cm.) l. x 10"h. x 11"d. The wooden
one-room butcher shop has frame and exterior of
natural wood and pale green painted wood,and the
interior has painted green upper walls above
lithographed paper to simulate tiles;
lithographed-paper "tiles" cover the floor. There
is attached shelving on the back wall with chrome
hanging racks for meat,free-standing counter,more
chrome racks attached to the side walls,and a
free-standing wooden rack with suspended poultry
and fowl. The counter has a tin cash register,a
rare wooden and metal slicer,and plates of meant,a
large paper mache pig head designed as a sign is
attached to the center back wall,and dozens of
paper mache or gesso cuts of meat are suspended on
metal hooks or arranged on plates,ready for sale.
A bisque dollhouse lady stands behind the counter
and a wooden sign "Fleisch und Wurstwaren" stands
in its original tin base. Very good condition
overall. Germany,circa 1900,a rare well-laden
store with rare accessories such as meat slicer.
