Description
2 1/2" (6 cm.) A round heavy card box box with
decorative paper covers and gilt edging has
original straw filling in which is nestled a
pewter tea service comprising footed tea pot with
lid,footed sugar with double handles and
lid,creamer,four cups and saucers,and four spoons.
Each of the handles is richly detailed and the
lids are topped with tiny bead finials. The inside
of the lid has original paper label with gilt
stenciling "The Metal Anglais,Solidite
Salubrite,Depose C.B.G." indicating that the
service was deposed and was of finest quality.
Cuperly,Blondel and Gerbeau,France,the CBG symbol
was registered in 1873 and appeared on their
finest works. Excellent condition,some repair to box.
