Description
Each is a luxury souvenir of an elegant Viennese ball, designed as a remembrance of that particular formal ball; many include a list of dances designed for a gentleman to write his name, reserving that dance. Included is 3" leather scroll with gilt lettering indicating a reunion of the friends of "handlungs-gehilfen", February 1889, with ormolu winged clip and silk flag at the reverse, with pencil; 2 1/2" gilt metal case with blank pages; 3" ivory silk booklet with burgundy fringe and wooden handle for "Speisen-Folge" of December 1898; and a rose silk covered box with ormolu gilt trim enclosing a lid antique photo of Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria . Excellent condition. Vienna, late 19th century.
