Description
11" (28 cm.) A lady doll with pressed-cloth head
in the manner of paper mache dolls has blonde
sculpted hair with head band,painted
earrings,painted facial features,original body
with hidden mechanism,cast iron hands and feet,and
pushing three-wheeled tin cart with cast iron
spoke wheels. When wound,the doll should
"walk",pushing the carriage. Condition:
fair,unrestored,with craquelure on head,costume
not original,original painted on cart albeit worn
on cart bed. Marks: LCR 1868... (partial paper
sticker on head). Comments: the doll by George
Hawkins who patented the unique construction style
in 1868,and with original use as the doll for the
patented William Goodwin lady with cart toy.
Included are cart objects,and the flannel-covered
dog with amber glass eyes.
