17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulder plate,blue glass enamel inset
eyes,dark eyeliner,lightly-feathered brows and
lashes,accented nostrils and eye corners,closed
mouth with accented lips,pierced ears,blonde
mohair wig over cork pate,kid poupee body with
gusset-jointing,stitched and separated fingers.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: L Depose 3
D. Comments: Louis Doleac,circa 1870,the facial
model for his poupee was unique; he offered
"undressed and dressed poupees" from his
establishment at 72 Rue des Archives to luxury
Parisian stores. Value Points: rare poupee with
very beautiful facial model and bisque,original
wig,body,and wearing her superb original two-piece
summer gown of fine sheer muslin with interwoven
rose ribbon bands,matching
bonnet,undergarments,leather slippers,rose
fingerless woven gloves.
