11" (28 cm.) Solid domed bisque socket head,blue glass inset eyes,painted lashes and brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with accented lips,pierced ears,brunette mohair wig,Sonneberg composition and wooden eight-loose-ball jointed body,wearing pretty antique costume. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 3. Comments: Sonneberg,circa 1885,the doll closely resembles the early portrait bebes by Jumeau,whose market the Sonneberg maker was attempting to capture. Value Points: pretty child with endearing shy expression,original body and body finish.
