40"l. (102 cm.) x 32" w. x 14" d. A wooden
two-story stackable house has architectural
columns at each side with painted blue and red
decorations on cream background,painted red roof
with defined shingles,painted blue side walls and
two gables with opening windows. There are four
rooms in the house,the bottom rooms with wide
windows,and the upper rooms with set-back rooms
(sunroom in the parlor,and bathroom in the
bedroom). Each of the rooms has original floor and
wall paper with beautiful tiny-scaled patterns,and
the opening room door on the second floor is
etched glass with a painted design of a rose. The
house is well-furnished in classic over-crowded
Victorian fashion and among its rare furnishings
are a velvet-upholstered parlor set and an
embossed maple dining set with extension dining
table,sideboard,piano and more. Rare accessories
include a goblet set in pewter holder,pewter cigar
cutter,bear rug. Walterhausen wooden hanging
clock,tin stove,and more. Fixtures hang in each
room,and the house is peopled by five German
bisque dollhouse people,while an upstairs maid
shakes out sheets from the gable window. Excellent
condition overall. Germany,circa 1890.
