Description
22" (56 cm.) A woven basket with an exuberant
arrangement of flowers constructed of hand-painted
tiny seashells,with garland-trimmed handle,is
preserved under its original glass dome on a
wooden base. A wide variety of flowers are
shown,each with remarkable verisimilitude.
Excellent condition. French,circa 1880,wonderful
creations of seashell art were created in fishing
villages of Normandy and Brittany during the
winter months; this example is especially artful.
