17" (43 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with center accent line, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid poupee body with shapely torso, gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, few small kid patches, costumes are frail. Comments: the doll was presented at the prestige Parisian toy shop of Simonne, circa 1867. Value Points: beautiful poupee with brilliant eyes and delicate complexion in lovely antique gown, in original French doll trunk with original Simonne paper label containing more than six early costumes, four bonnets, undergarments, and various costume elements.
