19" (48 cm.) All-carved wood with socket head, deeply set intaglio blue eyes with pronounced white eye dots, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with accent line between the lips, brunette mohair wig with side coiled braids, all wooden spring-jointed body, well costumed in mariner costume. Condition: generally excellent, hands repainted. Marks: Schoenhut Doll Pat. Jan 17, 1911 USA and Foreign Countries. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1912. Value Points: especially fine quality of carved detail of eyes, expressive features, original finish beautifully-preserved on face, original Schoenhut shoes.
