11" (28 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta shoulderhead of young black-complexioned man, black sculpted tightly-curled short hair, enamel eyes, mouth modeled closed with tiny teeth, tow-wrapped posable armature body, carved wooden lower arms and legs, painted yellow slippers and blue stockings, wearing original costume comprising embroidered yellow silk shirt, green silk jacket, rose silk vest, checkered silk harem pants, padded turban and carrying a tin lantern. Excellent condition, one glass panel missing on lantern. Neapolitan, mid-1700s.
