Description
17"(43 cm.) h. x 27àl. x 17àd. The wooden framed
room is centered by a charming set-back sun room
having especially high wainscoting,carved archway
entrance and diamond-patterned carving of sun
window panes. Waist-high wainscoting continues
around the larger room,below original paper
walls,and there is a large carved
faux-door,original papered floor,and original
fluted room frame. The room is furnished with a
highly carved dining set that is original to the
room,as well as a carpet,Christmas tree in the sun
room,a large collection of antique pewter steins
and dishes,and other accessories including moose
head,prints,cross-bow,other hunting miniatures,and
three stoneware jugs,one with a raised figural
design of Kaiser Wilhelm. Excellent condition.
Germany,circa 1895,Mey & Widmayer,the room and
furnishings were illustrated in their 1894 catalog
described as "deutscher Renaissance"in style.
