Description
18" (46 cm.) Bisquesocket head with oval-shaped
faceand strong elongated throat,intaglio-sculpted
blueeyes with enhancing glaze,thick black
eyeliner,heavy eyelids,painted lashes,feathered
brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with outlined
full sensuous lips,accent dot in bottom lip,ash
blondemohair wig over cork pate,wooden body with
long slender torso and limbs,shapely
torso,dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and
knees,jointed metal hands. Condition: generally
excellent,light rubs on original body finish.

Prevost,Huret Successor,circa 1910,thesuccessor of
theillustrious Maison Huret,was a pioneer in
theFrench art doll movement of theearly 20th
century,working in corroboration with
JeanneLanvin,thefashion designer,who is known to
havedesigned costumes for thePrevost Huret
poupees,which can beseen at theMuseedes Arts
Decoratif in Paris. This exampleowns an
exceptional trousseau comprising six
ensembles,each with its matching very elaborateand
fanciful hat; thegowns in delicatefabrics with
embroidered and beaded details areParisian
hautecoutureof their time; it is not documented
that this trousseau was thedesign of Lanvin,but it
is virtually certain. Also included is a pair of
signed Huret boots,and thesilk covered box in
which thecostumes havebeen preserved for 100

ValuePoints: exceedingly fineand uniquemodel,with
exquisitefacial modeling and bisque,perfectly
preserved in its original condition with
extensivetrousseau.
