All muslin cloth doll with flat-dimensional face,painted blonde curly hair around the face,painted facial features with delicate shading of eyes,painted curly side lashes,outlined nose,well-defined lips,side and back of head with stitched-on cap having lace ruffle around the face,stitch-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,mitten hands with defined thumbs,wearing original blue and white cotton dress and white pinafore,undergarments,stockings,shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: circa 1900,American,in the genre of the dolls created by the ladies of the First Presbyterian Church of Bucyrus,Ohio as fund-raising charity dolls. Value Points: wonderfully-preserved example with artistically-painted face.
