Description
8"(20 cm.) x 8"x 6 1/2"d. The wooden stage-like
box has a background of richly-colored
lithographed paper with village and mountain
scene,and a painted wooden house and trees on the
stage,along with a little bisque doll with painted
features,hair,original folklore costume,and with
three little lambs. When the handle is turned,she
twirls around,two of three lambs jump up and down
and music plays. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: (original store label for L'Opera at 318
Haussman,Paris). Comments: probably Zinner and
Sohne,circa 1900,for the French market. Value
Points: all-original charming mechanical and
musical vignette with vibrant colors.
