Presented in a padded silk faillecovered box with
embroidered design encircling an early engraving
of threeladies,are28 small samples of various silk
fabrics with exquisitedetail of embroidered or
interwoven designs. Each of thesamples has an old
attached paper label with ink-inscribed
description of thepiece,its background and age(in
French). An extraordinary record of fineearly
textiles,carefully assembled and identified during
theearly 19th century,mostly of 18th century work.
