31"(79 cm.) Bisque socket head with sienna-brown
complexion,elongated facial shape with full cheeks
and chin,brown glass paperweight inset eyes,thick
black eyeliner,painted black curly lashes and
brows with feathered detailing,accented eye
corners and nostrils,open mouth,outlined lips,row
of porcelain teeth,pierced ears,black fleecy
mohair wig,brown composition and wooden
ball-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: SH 17 949 (head) Handwerck (body).
Comments: Simon and Halbig,circa 1890. Value
Points: superb doll with flawless brown complexion
that is especially rare to find in this model and
size,original wig,body,body finish,and wearing
wonderful antique cotton mariner ensemble with
embroidered anchors,including cap,with
undergarments,knit stockings,leather shoes,and a
fabulous wooden-handled parasol whose blue cotton
cover is printed with anchors.
